First Presbyterian Church, led by her Women's Ministry, has sponsored an annual shoe drive that benefits Shoes for Orphan Souls for the past six years. Shoes for Orphan Souls, a ministry of Buckner International, has distributed over 2.2 million pairs of new shoes to at-risk orphans around the world. With participation all over the United States, the Shoes for Orphan Souls ministry is well placed to effect positive change in children's lives around the world.
This special ministry at FPC has collected over 4,000 pairs of new shoes since the beginning of the first annual shoe drive. Community members who would like to donate new shoes or money towards the purchase of new shoes may contact the church by calling (985)873-8136 or emailing:

We also support the efforts of Hope Extreme, which serves the youth of East Houma, as well as Trinity Christian Community, which serves the Hollygrove neighborhood in nearby New Orleans.
We support Jonathan and Fozia Young – EPC Missionaries ministering in South Asia. No contact information is available because of their working in a sensitive area.
We also support Dave and Deb Walker – EPC missionaries working in Singapore.
